Play Review MAMMA MIA


Play review

The plot of this play was Sophie who is played by Audra she is getting married and invites 3 men to her wedding hoping to figure out who her real dad is to have him walk her down the aisle. I think that in this play they used a lot of different kinds of lighting and the clothes they wore were a lot brighter than the last play which I felt made the play have a whole different feel it made it feel more upbeat and kept me more intrigued during the performance. I could also tell which characters were more important than the others in the play by just what they were wearing. The characters that were position similar where the 3 men that were invited to the wedding in hopes that one is Sophie's dad. I think the director's mission for this play was to just have fun and make it more of an upbeat play. I feel that the directors of the play did a really good job with that and made the play that much more enjoyable to watch.  A moment that stood out to me the most was at the beginning of the play when the 3 men arrived to check in to there room this was the first time Sophia has ever seen them and I  feel it makes her want to know who her dad is even more and as fast as she can. In my opinion, this part of the play stood out to me the most because they all kinda were really confused as to why they were invited and when the showed up in. the play they all had like the same thing on but just different colors I feel like.
A character who was the best in. my opinion would have been Sophie who was played by Audra Foti. she played her character very well and made it very realistic kike she was actually Sophie she just felt really relaxed when she was doing it and it was like she wasn't even acting but just going through a day in her life besides when she would start to sing but that made it eve3n more interesting to watch. I also feel that what she wore helped her play her character really well to tp help play her age and look the age of Sophie.
In my opinion, I liked the play a lot more than the last one in the fall for different reason the first would be we read the play in class in the fall so I felt I already knew what was going on during it but in mama mia, we did not read or watch anything on it so when watching it made it intriguing to watch because its nothing I have heard or watched before I feel that everyone else really enjoyed it as well.

act 3 notes

act 3 starts off 1 hour later and they are very sad about the money being lost, right after asagi came to the door ready to help them move. beneath then tells him about what happened to the money and right after he asks her to move to Africa with him. Mamma then tells them to start unpacking right as when they were ready to move she then says sometimes you just got to know when to give up to ruth. Walter then comes back and he made a call to carl litner, he then arrives at the same time as the movers to talk about if they are moving or not. he explains to him who they are and what they do and he is proud of them, he then tells him that the youngers will be moving into the house there father earned. and they were warned about the dangers to come with moving in but they are anyways.

Eating poetry The Poem is about how a dog is eating poetry "  I am a new man. I snarl at her and bark. I romp with joy in the bookish dark." Second poem Is Mother To son  This poem has a lot of meaning in it They talk about there troubles in life about how they didn't really have much and the mom has been pushing through and doing as much as she can to better ber son to make sure he doesn't have to be doing what she does. They also used a lot of different figurative language in this poem like bark. Third Poem The red wheelbarrow It is very short but uses a lot of figurative language
