poem questions for performance

My group is doing the poem mother and son, and during is performance we are going to have a narrator and then a mother and son. we are doing this because we want to talk about the important parts of the poem Some of the aspects of the poem that we are going to try to highlight is in the beginning of the poem the mother starts to have a conversation about life to her son and we are going to try and highlight that part of the poem by having two people as the mother and son and then One narrator.

Poem questions

1.  My first impression of this poem was it seemed kinda sad at first but then over the span of lines, it started to turn into something positive to help motivate the son to do good things with his life and when things get hard. At first, when I looked at the title of the poem it intrigued me to read about it and see what its all about because I could have been about many different things then it actually was if u were to just assume what it was about from the title. 2. Over time I realized there was a deeper meaning to the poem that the mother went through some hard times and had to push through when things got tough but she is in a better place now but is still having to work hard to better herself and she wanted to tell her son that so he can accomplish good things in life and maybe not have to go through what she had to. In the second line, the poet says " life for me ain't been no crystal stair." When the poet says this it means that the crystal stair is like havin...

Poem notes

Eating poetry The Poem is about how a dog is eating poetry "  I am a new man. I snarl at her and bark. I romp with joy in the bookish dark." Second poem Is Mother To son  This poem has a lot of meaning in it They talk about there troubles in life about how they didn't really have much and the mom has been pushing through and doing as much as she can to better ber son to make sure he doesn't have to be doing what she does. They also used a lot of different figurative language in this poem like bark. Third Poem The red wheelbarrow It is very short but uses a lot of figurative language

Figurative language

simile- My twin is like loose change metaphor-My twin is a tree personification- My twin's feet screamed out help me hyperbole-My twin is the best sister in the world onomatopoeia-My twin likes to bark alliteration- My twin taught the class assonance-My twin is little and interesting consonance- My twin eats butter at the taco truck

Final Draft Reflection

1. I think it turned out pretty good. 2. I worked on trying to add some specific quotes that would help answer my thesis and just help out my essay in general. 3. The thing that was difficult for me as I didn't really know what else to talk about because I can only talk about so much of a song before it starts to get repetitive; the easy part of this was just answering my thesis because the song that I picked was very good to answer with it. 4. I think I did a good job with answering my thesis but I think I had a hard time getting to 500 words because it got to a point and I did not know what to write. 5. I think if I had more time I would go more in-depth then I did about the quotes that I choose. 6.  Is should get all points for having above 500 words I also had a thesis with all different body paragraphs. I think I might get points off for my title because I just did not know what to write.

Final Draft Song Essay

Best day ever - Mac Miller Life When I heard "best day ever by Mac Miller" for the first time it just made me smile and I could not stop listening to it. It makes me think about life in a deeper and more meaningful way whenever I hear this song.  This poem shows that whatever you are doing you should always give it 100% no matter what because there is always someone in life that is going to try and be better than you. This quote from Mac Miller is very meaningful " I never take a day off  Work around the clock, my engineer gettin' paid off". This quote means to me that you are gonna have to do things in life that you aren't going to want to do but you know it will help you achieve whatever your goal is so you just got to push through it and to never take a day of off anything and focus on what you are trying to achieve.   There is a lot of different meanings in this song and you can interpret it in many different ways but what it means to me is...

This song to me also means you should just enjoy life and try not to worry about the stupid things and just move past them and to just strive for something greater that you want to accomplish. This song also makes me want to just try to accomplish and get around anything...

Song lyrics Mac Miller- Best Day Ever

[Verse 1:] I never take a day off, work around the clock My engineer gettin' paid off Rock like aseop, light the weed and take off So high I cannot see Adolf Now I got these rappers all breakin up a sweat Cause everytime I get up on the mic I come correct And I learned it from the best, always dressed in something fresh Lookin' for a little dime, big butt and nice chest Yes, they heard I used to rock guess But now I'm rocking clothes that ain't in the stores yet Travel back in time, I'm in a vortex Trying to make it work out think I need more reps Used to take the bus now the boy board jets Cause kids got me buzzing like a *****ing hornet They say I got next, tell em that I got now It's all Disney, boy my family proud Make 'em say ow, make 'em say oh The hoes that tell me yes, the same ones that tell ya no Whoa, I ain't just an average joe, Way above the average flow, boy my life is most dope [Chorus:] No matter where li...

Perfomance reflect

I think my group had a really good performance-we did really well remembering our lines and i think we had a good flow during the whole thing. I also think the other groups did really good and I like how everyone performed it in different ways. the hard thing for me was trying to remember the lines and the easy thing for me performing it. In my opinion i think that the different music made each one interesting to watch. In think what worked was how each group had there own performing and nobody had trouble being creative with it. I think that for some groups needed to speak up a little more.
