chapter 1 scene 2 of a raisin in the sun notes

It is Saturday morning, they are cleaning the house and the day the check is supposed to arrive

when they are cleaning beneatha is wondering where ruth went so she asks moma and she says she went to the doctor so she asks if everything is ok then she gives her a look in a way she could tell what was going on so she waits for her to come home then when ruth finally comes back home she tells them the news although they already kinda knew what was going on

beneathe then have a friend who just got back from Canada come over even though the house isn't fully clean he is from Nigeria and brought beneathe some pieces of clothing from his culter and some records.

when Walter finally comes back home the first thing he asks is if the check came in and mama shows it to him but says he should talk to his wife about something. mama then tells him there ain't gonna be no investing in any liquor stores.

 At the end of the scene, mama finally has to tell Walter that he is expecting another child but the ruth is thinking about getting rid of it and he didn't believe her until ruth says its true and that she has put a 5 dollar down payment to get rid of the child. Walter goes silent not knowing what to say or do so he decided to just walk away and leave the house.

Mama feeling bad for her son gives him the rest of the money from the check and says to out put some away for beneathas college and have the rest. she wants him to be the head of the family for now on. he then tells Travis about all the change he is gonna do now.

act 3 notes

act 3 starts off 1 hour later and they are very sad about the money being lost, right after asagi came to the door ready to help them move. beneath then tells him about what happened to the money and right after he asks her to move to Africa with him. Mamma then tells them to start unpacking right as when they were ready to move she then says sometimes you just got to know when to give up to ruth. Walter then comes back and he made a call to carl litner, he then arrives at the same time as the movers to talk about if they are moving or not. he explains to him who they are and what they do and he is proud of them, he then tells him that the youngers will be moving into the house there father earned. and they were warned about the dangers to come with moving in but they are anyways.

Eating poetry The Poem is about how a dog is eating poetry "  I am a new man. I snarl at her and bark. I romp with joy in the bookish dark." Second poem Is Mother To son  This poem has a lot of meaning in it They talk about there troubles in life about how they didn't really have much and the mom has been pushing through and doing as much as she can to better ber son to make sure he doesn't have to be doing what she does. They also used a lot of different figurative language in this poem like bark. Third Poem The red wheelbarrow It is very short but uses a lot of figurative language
